Terms of Service

Effective date: April 7, 2026

By using wcagkit (wcagkit.com), you agree to the following terms. If you don't agree, that's okay -- but please stop using the site.

What wcagkit Offers

wcagkit provides 18 browser-based tools for testing web accessibility against WCAG 2.2 guidelines. These include a site checker, contrast checker, heading analyzer, ARIA validator, keyboard trap detector, focus order visualizer, and other specialized checkers. Every tool runs locally in your browser at no cost.

Automated Checks Have Limits

This is important, so we'll be direct: the accessibility audit results produced by wcagkit are automated checks, not a substitute for manual accessibility testing or legal compliance review.

Automated tools can catch many common issues -- missing alt text, insufficient contrast, broken heading hierarchies, invalid ARIA attributes. But they cannot assess everything that matters for real accessibility. Understanding whether alt text is actually meaningful, whether content makes sense to screen reader users, or whether your site meets the specific legal requirements of the ADA, EN 301 549, or the European Accessibility Act requires human judgment.

Use wcagkit as one part of a broader accessibility strategy. A clean report from our tools does not mean your website is fully accessible or legally compliant. Conversely, flagged issues should be evaluated in context -- not every automated finding is a genuine failure.

No Warranties

wcagkit is provided "as is" without any warranties, express or implied. We do not guarantee that our tools will catch every accessibility issue, that they will be available at all times, or that the results they produce are complete. We disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of Liability

wcagkit, its operators, and contributors are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the site or its tools. This includes, but is not limited to, damages resulting from reliance on accessibility reports generated by our tools, legal actions taken against you for accessibility non-compliance, or any loss of data or business opportunity.

Our maximum aggregate liability for any claim related to the service is zero dollars, as the service is provided entirely free of charge.

Testing Other People's Websites

wcagkit allows you to paste HTML or try browser-readable URLs for accessibility checks. URL checks are limited by browser security rules and may not work for every site. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of these features is lawful and ethical. We are not responsible for how you use or share the results of accessibility checks performed on websites you do not own.

Acceptable Use

When using wcagkit, you agree not to:

Intellectual Property

The design, code, and original content on wcagkit are our intellectual property. You're welcome to use the tools freely, embed them in your workflow, and share results with colleagues. You may not clone the site or its tools to operate a competing service.

WCAG itself is a standard published by the W3C and is referenced for educational and testing purposes only. wcagkit is not affiliated with or endorsed by the W3C.

Embedded Tools

We provide embed codes so you can place individual wcagkit tools on your own site. Embedded tools are governed by these same terms, and we may modify or remove embed support at any time.

Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms periodically. Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Your continued use of wcagkit after a change constitutes acceptance.

Termination

We may restrict or terminate access for anyone who violates these terms, at our discretion and without advance notice.
