Privacy Policy

wcagkit (wcagkit.com) is a collection of free web accessibility testing tools. We care deeply about privacy -- partly because it's the right thing to do, and partly because building a database of websites with accessibility problems would be a pretty terrible thing. So we don't. Here's exactly how we handle data.
Your Audit Inputs Stay in Your Browser
When you paste HTML into our site checker, run a contrast test, or analyze heading structure, the processing happens client-side in your browser. URL checks are best-effort browser requests only when the target site allows cross-origin reads. We do not maintain a server-side crawler that logs which websites you're testing, what issues were found, or how often you check a particular site. There is no list of "websites that failed accessibility checks" sitting on our infrastructure. That data simply does not exist outside your device.
The same applies to every tool on wcagkit. Whether you're checking color contrast ratios, validating ARIA roles, testing keyboard navigation, or generating an accessibility statement, the inputs and outputs are processed locally and never transmitted to us.
What Gets Stored Locally
wcagkit uses your browser's localStorage for a handful of convenience features:
- Your color theme preference (light or dark)
- A list of tools you've recently used
- Tools you've favorited for quick access
All of this is stored on your machine only. We cannot read, access, or retrieve any of it. Clearing your browser data removes it permanently.
Sharing Results via Links
Some tools offer a share button that encodes the current tool state into the URL hash. The URL hash is never sent to the server by web browsers, so we don't see what's in these links. Anyone who receives the link, however, can view the data encoded in it -- so share thoughtfully if your inputs contain anything sensitive.
We Don't Collect Personal Information
There are no accounts on wcagkit. No registration forms. No email collection. No surveys or pop-ups asking for your name. You can use every accessibility tool on the site without identifying yourself in any way.
Advertising and Cookies
wcagkit does not set first-party tracking cookies. We don't run analytics tools or user behavior tracking of any kind.
We may display ads via Google AdSense to keep the tools free and maintained. Google AdSense may place cookies on your browser to personalize ads based on your browsing activity across the web. You have control over this -- adjust your preferences at Google Ad Settings or opt out through aboutads.info/choices.
External Resources
We load fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google may see your IP address when those files are fetched. Other than ads and fonts, no third-party service receives information about your visits or tool usage.
Data Security
No user data is stored on our servers, which means there is no central database vulnerable to breaches. The entire site is served over HTTPS, ensuring secure delivery of every page.
Children's Privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Given that we collect no personal information from anyone, this protection extends to all users equally.
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy over time. Any changes will be published on this page with an updated date. We suggest revisiting periodically to stay informed.
